20000 Cross River Youths to Benefit from Skill Acquisition of Government

About 20000 unemployed Youth’s in Cross River State are to receive training from the State Government on 70 accessed skills acquisition soon.

The State Commissioner for Youths and Skills Acquisition, Signor Omang Idiege spoke yesterday in Calabar at Transcope Hotel to mark the International Youth Day celebration with the theme “Youths Engagement for Global Action.”

Omang Idiege said that the training programme would be facilitated by the Ministry of Youth and Skills Acquisition and that the training will take place at the 140 room Construction and Fabrication Academy of West Africa edifies, State Housing Estate, Calabar.

He explained that the essence of training the Youths was to harness their potentials, get them self employed, reduce unemployment and to prepare them for national building.

The commissioner hinted that five organizations, including a German Bit man Foundation International  were the resource persons for the training and that the 2020 first batch of the programme will start with 5000 Youths.

Meanwhile, the youth commissioner commended Governor Ayade for the industrialization drive of the state and described the Governor as the Most Youthful and Friendly Governor in Nigeria.

He noted that the Youths programmes in the state are uncommon, stressing that Cross River State  was blessed with a Youth Governor who has passion and interest to engage the Youths meaningfully.
