2020 Harvest Celebration: UEC Commits Leaders of C’ River into God’s Hand

United Evangelical Church (UEC), founded as Qua Iboe Church, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar has prayed to God to sustain Cross River State and empower its leaders with wisdom and understanding to pilot the affairs of the state.

The minister in-charge, Pastor Okechukwu Paul Ekperechi spoke in the church auditorium during the 2020 harvest celebration on the theme “The Abundance of Rain”, under the distinguished chairanship of Deacon (Mrs.) Bassey Lawrance Ekpezudast Sunday.

He prayed God to guide the managers of the State machinery and for God to grant Governor Ben Ayade the wisdom and understanding to pilot the affairs of the state.

Pastor Ekperechi reminded leaders that they would one day give account of their stewardship and urged them to lead responsibly, not burdening the people they are leading.

He acknowledged the difficulties in the world today but appeal to the society to sustain hope in God for a better tomorrow.

The lead minister further called on ministers of the gospel to show forth the light of God in their daily activities.

He said that harvest is very important in the life of Christians and that it reminds them that soon Christ will come and should be prepared for His coming.

Some of the church members who spoke with our reporter expressed satisfaction in the success of the 2020 harvest thanksgiving stressing that God will turn again their captivities, filling their mouths with laughter and tongues with songs of joy.
