2023: Again, Peter Obi meets Wike, Mimiko, Duke, others; Baba-Ahmed denies selling Obi’s candidature to North

Peter Obi, the Labour party presidential flag bearer has again met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and the former governors of Ondo and Cross River states Olusegun Mimiko among others.

The trio also met on Monday night with top politicians like former Cross River Governor, Donald Duke; Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom; Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Gombe State ex-governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo; and a host of others at Wike’s private residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Mimiko shared a photo with the aforementioned politicians on his Twitter page, adding that it was nice to share some time with them.

However, no reason has been given for the meeting.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Hakeem Baba Ahmed has distanced himself from selling the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi to Northerners.

He spoke while replying to a social media user who accused him of selling Obi to the Northerners.

In a now taken down tweet, the Twitter user had claimed that Baba-Ahmed would benefit from Obi’s presidency.

The Twitter user had written: “You need to understand that Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed undoubtedly benefits more when Obi/Datti wins the Presidency.

Baba-Ahmed said he can only sell presidential candidates who meet his own standard of a potentially good leader to Northerners.
