2023 C’ River State Constituency Election: Female aspirant vows to change the face of representative goverance

A female aspirant for the 2023 Cross River State House of Assembly election for Yala I State Constituency under the platform of the APC, Princess Otanya Odey, has promised to change the narrative of representation if given the ticket to contest the 2023 elections.

Princess Otanya disclosed this on Wednesday at a popular Canaan city sit-out “ TATA FISH” in Calabar. According to her, she has already consulted with the Yala Local Government Area chairman, Hon. Barrister Fabian Ogbeche on her aspiration to seek his support and blessings as a critical stakeholder.

She used the occasion after meeting with party officials Wednesday at the state headquarters of the All Progressive Congress to explain how the odds within the political milieu of the area favour her candidacy in the traditional power-sharing equation.

Otanya said the established political history where stakeholders’ decisions, the people, natural leadership positioning, and other factors congregate to create balance and foster inclusion effectively checkmates bitterness and unnecessary heating up of Yala Polity.

And doubling down, she explained that without sentiment, interest, or bias, Yala is politically divided into Eastern and Western parts and since the Member Representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon. Jude Ngaji is from the West, it is expedient that for equity and fair play somebody from the Eastern part of Yala should represent the people of Yala I State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly in 2023.

She stressed that she has come with a new vision and new voice of civic engagement as well as an all-inclusive change to reflect the narrative mantra.
