2023 Cross River North Senate: Chief of Staff steps down for Governor Ayade

Mr. Martins Orim, Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, has withdrawn from the race and handed- over the ticket to his principal in another primary conducted on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Ogoja with Gov. Ayade polling a total of 252 votes while three were invalidated from a total of 255 votes cast.

Sameera Tabo, Chairperson of the APC primary election committee from Cross River North declared the governor winner in the fresh exercise following the withdrawal of the place-holder in the Cross River North Senatorial District primaries conducted on May 28, 2022.

This development has pitched Governor Ben Ayade on a collision path with the incumbent Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party who is seeking a return ticket to the Senate in 2023.
