2023 Elections: Afenifere leaders endorse Tinubu as Oyo governor support choice

Presidential candidate of the APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has received the blessing of Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Ondo State ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu presented his work plan before the leaders of the South West. He promised to effect the desired change for Nigeria to be better.

The meeting in Akure Ondo State was held at the residence of the leader of the Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti.

Pa Fasoranti and other leaders of the South West at the meeting wished Asiwaju Bola Tinubu well as he embarks on the presidential race.

A crowd of supporters received the flag-bearer of the ruling Party and former Governor of Lagos at the airport in Akure and followed him to the venue of the meeting.

This consultation is a significant one for the Yoruba race ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election. The meeting was attended by many leaders from the South West including the Governor of Ekiti State, Abayomi Oyebanji, Deputy Governor of Oyo State and other prominent Yoruba leaders.

Meanwhile, Oyo State deputy governor, Adebayo Lawal, has said that his principal, Seyi Makinde supports the Afenifere leaders on their preferred choice of presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

Lawal who represented Makinde at a meeting between Afenifere leaders and Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Akure, the capital of Ondo state, said the Oyo governor has always been in support of the decisions taken by Afenifere.

This solidarity by Seyi Makinde who is one of the five governors opposing Iyorcha Ayu, the Peoples Democratic Party chairman is mix messaging being a critical stakeholder of the main opposition party which has a presidential candidate. The fact that this proxy remark is made at the time of crisis in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of which Lawal and Makinde are members is significant.
