2023 Elections: INEC receives last shipment of BVAS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has received the last consignment of the bimodal voter accreditation (BVAS) machines in preparation for the 2023 general elections.

According to a statement by INEC national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, Festus Okoye, the commission had created hubs in Abuja, Kano, Lagos, and Port Harcourt to ensure smooth delivery of the machines.

Okoye said the INEC chairman; INEC national commissioners; and senior officials of the commission were at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday, to receive the BVAS.

He added that officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) were also at the airport to receive the INEC team.
