2023 National Assembly Election: Akpanke wins PDP HOR ticket in C’ River
After the multiple primaries and re-run for the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwara Federal House of Representatives ticket under the Peoples’ Democratic Party platform for the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Akpanke has eventually clinched the ticket with 60 votes beating four other aspirants.
Other contenders in the primary held at the Bekwara Local Government Council Area were KJ Jedy Agba who polled 33 votes while Udayi Julius, Elaunire Ushie, and Bukke Ikongshul scored zero votes respectively.
It would be recalled that Mr. Akpanke had earlier won in the previous primaries held in Calabar after violence rocked the initial primary conducted in Obudu.
Mr. Akpanke briefed newsmen that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should prepare to suffer defeat in the 2023 general elections as their plan to frustrate his emergence as the PDP candidate to challenge their candidate did not work and thank God and his teaming supporters for the doggedness exhibited in seeing to his success. He promised never to disappoint them if elected to represent the good people of Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwara Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
