2023: YPP guber candidate in Cross River committed to implementing GAIN
Cross River YPP governorship candidate Mr. Joseph Coco-Bassey has said that he is committed to the Governance Agenda for inclusive Nigeria (GAIN) it elected.
Before signing the document Coco-Bassey encouraged eligible voters to go out and cast their vote voluntarily, asserting that “it is the problems associated with voting that has caused voter apathy and which has led to recycling.
Before and after signing the document, he commended the initiative and maintained that the “VOTE NOT FIGHT, ELECTION NO BE WAR” campaign implemented by FACE initiative might appear small today, but promoting and discouraging election vices stating that “we need to encourage women because they are strong and dedicated, but have not galvanized themselves well” and pledged to work with the marginalized community if elected.
Earlier, the Cross River State Team lead of “GAIN” Mr. Lawrence Peter, said the purpose is to strengthen democratic tenets through a commitment of all candidates by the issuance of the “GAIN” document which is geared towards prioritizing the inclusion of the marginalized community – youths, women, and persons with disabilities.
In a thank, you speech on Thursday, Miss. Ukeme-Obong Albert, the “GAIN” coordinator who is also a member of the “VOTE NOT FIGHT, ELECTION NO BE WAR” campaign team stated that 70% of the voters are women, youth and persons living with disability, yet their concerns have not been galvanised with a view to addressing them.
