5 APC Councillors in Cross River burn brooms, join PDP
A mild drama ensued when 5 APC Councilors in Obaniliku Local Government Council of Cross River State openly burn their brooms and decamped to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Sankwala and thereafter embarked on a unity rally where they were received by Mr. Peter Akpanke, a House of Representatives aspirant seeking to fill the vacant office created by Senator Jarigbe Agom.
The decampees who were welcomed by the PDP Chapter Chairman of Obanliku L.G.A were from Bendi 1 ward, Bishiri ward, Bisi ward, Bebi ward, and Busi ward is viewed as a blow to the APC in Obanliku as public perception has it that they were handpicked by Governor Ayade and his allies.
The council legislature according to Hon. Polycarp Ugi-Ugbong representing Bebi- ward, is now even between the ruling APC and the main opposition PDP in the State.
