88th Annual Convention: Apostolic Church Remembers Pioneer National President
The 88th Annual Convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Calabar Field, Cross River Territory has come and gone but its memory lingers on in the minds of many faithfuls’ as it accorded them the opportunity to celebrate the 10th Anniversary since the demise of the First National President, Late Pastor E. E. Okon who passed on to glory on September, 28th 2010.
The gathering held at TACN Convention Ground Akim-Akim in Odukpani with the theme “HIS NAME IS JESUS,” culled from Matthew 1 vs. 21 “His name shall be called JESUS” focused on the totality of God’s plans and purpose for mankind.
The activities which spanned seven days starting on Friday 18th to Friday 25th December 2020, featured Bible Studies, Miracles, Testimonies, Witness, Women, Men, and Youths Rallies, Tarry, Healing Meeting, Water Baptism for new Converts, outpouring of the Holy Spirit and thanksgiving.
Officers Forum was conducted by Pastor Eta E. Edet, (JP), Field Superintendent of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Akpabuyo Field. All activities at the convention ground were conducted under strict compliance with the Covid-19 protocols.
The meeting was attended by some high-profile clergies of the church including Pastor (Dr.) S.E. Igwe, National President, Pastor J. O. Arikpo, Cross River Territorial Chairman, Pastor D. A Effanga, Cross River Territorial Vice Chairman/ Chief Host alongside other anointed men of God.
The convention wind down with a call for National Prayers by the Body of Christ for God’s Intervention to stop resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic as well as end to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, ethnic/communal clashes and insecurity in the country led by Pastor Ekpe E. Offiong, Administrative Secretary of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Calabar Field.
Participants at the event thanked God for the success of the event.
