Abduction of Appeal Court Judge Wife; Notorious Kidnapper ‘Lion’ Picked Up in Calabar

The Cross River Command of the Nigeria Police on Thursday paraded six kidnap suspects of the wife of Appeal Court Judge, Justice Ignatius Agube, and 28 others. According to the police Commissioner, Abdulkadir Jimoh the suspects were involved in kidnapping, cultism, piracy, and sundry crimes in Cross River State while their houses were torched.

Jimoh who addressed reporters in Calabar, the state’s capital said the criminals which included a popular kidnapper, aka Lion were fished out after an intensive manhunt.

The police boss, while suing for collaborative efforts of the traditional rulers and community leaders on intelligence gathering, said never again will Cross River under his watch witness any spike in kidnapping cases, insisting that any house found to retain kidnappers will henceforth be demolished.

He warned criminals to have a change of mind or relocate from Cross River State, insisting that bad spots will be combed periodically to sanitize the state.

Jimoh also used the opportunity to admonish parents to monitor the movement of their children as the Command will not spare criminals no matter how highly placed.
