Adamawa supplementary election: NGOs condemn sponsored protests against April 15 poll
A coalition of non-governmental organisations have condemned in totality, the continuous protests by some pressure groups demanding cancellation of Adamawa supplementary governorship election.
Speaking at a press conference in Yola, the team leader of the Coalition of Independent National Electoral Commission’s accredited observers, Victor Kalu charged INEC to remain resolute in conducting a free and fair credible and transparent supplementary election where the mandate of the people will count on April 15 in Adamawa State.
He therefore called on political parties, candidates and stakeholders in the state to rally round the INEC in ensuring peaceful conclusion of the election.
He alleged that, “some undemocratic elements desiring to thwart the process and win election through the back door are in the habit of organizing protests in Yola and Abuja.”
Kalu then urged security agents to live up to their constitutional responsibility by being neutral during the poll.
