Adeboye says Oba Olaoye destined to be Ogbomoso monarch; your enthronement an act of God _ Olu of Warri

The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Sunday, said the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, was destined to be a king even before he was born.

He made the declaration on Sunday, while speaking at the Beulah Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso, venue of an interdenominational thanksgiving service for the new Soun of Ogbomoso.

The cleric while addressing the gathering, said he knew that Olaoye was born to become a king.

According to him, when he (Olaoye) came to inform him about the development, he told him to go and pray, he came back and said he had not heard anything, and he (Adeboye) told him to go back and pray again, and after a while, he came back and told him that God has spoken.

He added that it was then that he (Adeboye) told him (Olaoye) to go because he had been destined.

“To my critics, if I said no and God said yes, whose word is the final, God of course, so I cannot stop him because Pastor Ghandi was destined to be a king even before he was born and thank God it is coming to fruition”, he said.

While counseling the monarch, Pastor Adeboye who took his scripture from the book of Acts 15 :18, enjoined him to embrace people and promote peace and unity among his subjects.

After the sermon the cleric anointed the monarch and his wife and then prayed for his peaceful and prosperous reign as Soun.

While addressing the congregation, Oba Ghandi, said Pastor Adeboye is his spiritual role model, assuring to be fair to all and sundry.

He said, “Pastor Adeboye has been a father to me, it is an unforgivable sin if you report me to Pastor Adeboye. I don’t like people reporting me to him as we have gone to the whole world together and I have watched him closely and I see a genuine man of God.

“I am happy today that the person who laid a hand on me to become a Pastor is the same who anointed me when I become a monarch.

“To my people in Ogbomoso, let us work together, let us develop this land and let’s make this land a place where our sons and daughters will be proud of. I believe it is a new dawn for Ogbomoso.

“I will be a monarch to the Chritsians, Muslims and traditional worshippers. I will be a king to every sons and daughters of this land, that is my strength and I believe that God will give me his mercy to lead His people. I want everybody in this land to pray for me so that I would rule aright.”

Also, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse has declared that the coronation of Oba Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun of Ogbomoso land is an act sanctioned by God.

He also assured the people of Ogbomoso of his support and partnership to better the lives of the people of the two kingdoms.

The Warri monarch said this in a statement he signed to congratulate Ghandi Olaoye on his coronation as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso land, saying he was not in doubt of the Soun’s capacity to transform the lives of his people.

The Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde had approved the selection of Olaoye, who was a pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso land, on September 2, 2023, from Olaoye Ruling House after duly selected by the kingmakers in the ancient town.

Atuwatse said having excelled in the work of God, it was time for the new Soun to also use same wisdom and God guidance to work for the prosperity of the people of Ogbomoso land.

He said, “As a Pastor, you excelled in taking the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to the poor in Spirit, the brokenhearted and set captives free.

“As a shepherd to everyone in Ogbomoso Land, we are unalterably convinced you bring to bear the same Spirit of excellence as you take your industrious sons and daughters to greater heights.”

While stating that the two kingdoms share the same cultural identity, Ogiame Atuwatse III said that effective collaboration would ensure greater impact in the lives of their people.

He said, “May God bless iour Imperial Majesty and the people of Ogbomoso Land as we use cultural diplomacy for development to transform our traditional institutions into impactful partners in the quest for accelerated growth and development for our people, it is our fervent prayer that in leading our people at a time such as this bring joy, peace, progress and unity to our people.
