A’Ibom Governor Receives Additional Aircraft; Akwa Ibom Positioned as Aviation Hub

Governor Udom Emmanuel has received another plane making it the fifth into the fleet of Ibom Air. The aircraft was received in the company of high profile government officials at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo after it touched down.

Udom Emmanuel who was visibly elated said the state aims to become an aviation hub in the gulf of Guinea. And added that Ibom Air, the state owned airline is the airline to beat in the aviation industry in Nigeria.

The plane is a Bombadier CRJ 900 brand with registration number 5N-BXO flown by the first female pilot in Ibom Air, Ruth Adebawo.

Chairman of Ibom Air and former Commander of the Presidential Fleet, Air Commander Idongesit Nkanga( rtd.) said the expansion of the fleet was part of the completion agenda of the staqte government and gave details of the new high tech bio safety aircraft.

Ibom Air is the first airline to be owned by a state government in Nigeria and began operations in June. 2019. The new addition has now increased its fleet to 5 planes.
