Akwa Ibom Gets New Police Commissioner

A new Commissioner of Police has been assigned to Akwa Ibom state. He is Amiengheme Andrew.

In a chat with journalists in Uyo, the state capital the new helmsman promised to rid Akwa Ibom of men of the underworld saying that there would be no hiding place for criminals in the state no matter how highly connected they may be.

The new Police boss inspected a parade by men of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command to formally welcome him.

He further hinted that his tenure would witness a difference, particularly in combating sexual offences assuring that his wealth of experience on the job would be brought to bear in the performance of his duties, with new measures and strategy.

The new Police Commissioner takes over from Imohimi Edgal and becomes the 30th Commissioner of Police in the state.

He appealed to Akwa Ibom people to partner with the police for the effective policing of the state.
