America 2024: Rematch between Trump, Biden as front-runners in Super Tuesday races

Voters in some US states headed to the polls in the primaries on “Super Tuesday,” to nominate a candidate for the US presidential election in November.

Already, results are pouring in from Super Tuesday’s election primary races as voters in 16 states are choosing their party’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Former US President Donald Trump has swept nearly all Republican contests paving the way for a face-off with President Joe Biden in November.

In Palm beach, Florida, Trump said: “This was amazing, amazing. I had an amazing day. It’s been an incredible period of time in our country’s history.”

Referring to Biden, Trump said: “He’s the worst president in the history of our country. There’s never been anything like what’s happening to our country.”

According to ABC News, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley clinched a projected win in Vermont, her only win so far besides Washington D.C.

So far, Nikky Harley has a total of 36 votes from Washington DC and Vermont as against over 450 votes of Trump including the huge delegate number from California. This clearly makes former President Donald Trump the frontrunner in the battle to become the party’s presidential candidate.

Haley’s campaign says it is “honored” to have received the support of millions of Americans across the country, including in Vermont.”

Super Tuesday is expected to add pressure on Haley to end her bid to become the Republican nominee for president.

The Democrats are also holding their primaries or caucuses in 15 states and one territory. Biden won in 15 states but lost in American Samoa.

In a statement reacting to the Republican race, Biden said: “Tonight’s results leave the American people with a clear choice. Are we going to keep moving forward or will we allow Donald Trump to drag us backwards into the chaos, division and darkness that defined his term in office?”

But things are different in this election cycle with neither President Joe Biden nor former President Donald Trump facing serious challengers. Joe Biden has no serious competitor in his own Democratic party, while Donald Trump is weigh ahead of Nikky Harley , his lone remaining Republican rival.

Super Tuesday is the day when the greatest number of American states hold presidential primaries and in past elections had super-swaying power in the run-up to the general elections in November.
