AnambraDecides: APGA’s Soludo Wins 17 LGAs as INEC Declares Results in 19 LGAs

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has been declared winner in 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) out of the 19 announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Anambra State governorship election.

In the result of Anambra West, which was announced by the INEC returning officer, Dr. German Anagbogu, APC got 1,233, PDP got 1,401 while APGA won with 1,918.

APGA’s flagbearer took an early lead when 12 LGA’s were earlier released by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA) won in 11 while Young Progressives Party (YPP) won in Nnewi North Local government area.

According to INEC, APGA’s candidate, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who had earlier amassed more votes in each of the earlier announced local government areas, also led his opponents in the additional local government areas announced by INEC.

Recall that the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Soludo had won against Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aguata Local Government Area, the three top contenders’ home council.

It would be recalled that the Independent Electoral Commissioner had last night announced the collation of result will begin at 10 am today, but later shifted it to 11 am.

Notwithstanding the cancellation and postponement of voting in Ihiala to November 13, below are full results from the Gubernatorial Elections as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission Sunday for 19 LGAs turned in.
