APC chieftain felicitates Otu on success of Carnival Calabar; Aiyedatiwa on assumption of office as Ondo governor

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State and project coordinator of the State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (CRAAMP), Chief Henry Igelle Onwe has congratulated the State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu over the success of 2023 Carnival Calabar event which has impacted on the economy of the state.

And fielding questions from newsmen on Thursday, December 28, in Calabar, Onwe, a one time federal house aspirant who contested the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency primaries under the APC platform described 2023 as a paradigm-shift in the planning and execution of Africa’s biggest street party.

He also seized the occasion to condole the people of Ondo State and the APC family on the untimely death of Rotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday December 27, 2023 which necessitated the swearing-in of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the substantive governor thus ending the lingering political crisis in the State.

Onwe appealed to Governor Aiyedatiwa to see his political elevation as an act of God and implored him to appreciate the sovereignty of God and of the people of Ondo who voted them into office on a joint ticket by running am inclusive government to heal the wounds the political crisis had inflicted on the psyche of the people of the State.

The political crisis in Ondo state which has lingered for months now is not unconnected among others, to the 2024 governorship election where three candidates are in to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the primary scheduled for April 2024.
