APC chieftain in Cross River reaffirms zoning, comments on former President Jonathan and 2023 presidential election

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC in Cross River State, Chief Joseph Omini Ogburuwa has predicted that former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is returning to office in 2023.

Chief Ogburuwa who is a Senior Litigation Assistant and Acting Chambers Manager in the law firm of Mba E. Ukweni (SAN) & Associates while fielding questions for a LENS reporter in his office, hinged his forecast on a political equation he referred to as “ZONING BY ELIMINATION.”, He said, ‘it is my humble view as a political analyst that the next president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari is Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’.

Speaking on the development in Cross River State he said, “I have refused to be part of those who said there is no zoning in Nigeria, and Cross River State has been part of the document reached to that effect. I am minded to state unequivocally that the elections have been by eliminated in that candidates from other regions of the country and Senatorial District always contested elections without regard to laid down zoning principles and usually end their fights in Election tribunals and courts hence adviced political gladiators in Cross River State to thread the 2023 governorship election with caution and be guided by the rules of the game”.
