APC faction wants Osun state chairman of party removed

The crises rocking the All Progressive congress in Osun state have taken another dimension as a faction within the party known as The Osun Progressive (TOP) took to the streets of Osogbo to stage a protest calling for the removal of the state party chairman Gboyega Famoodun.

The protesters who are loyalists of the former governor of the state and current minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola started their protest from the popular Olaiya fly-over in Osogbo before terminating it at the state house of assembly.

Some of the protesters who spoke with newsmen, Abosede Oluwaseun and Sodiq Olajide want the national body of the party to restructure the party in Osun by disbanding the state party executives led by Gboyega Famoodun.

Oluwaseun and Olajide also accused Famoodun of introducing politics of division which is one of the factors that contributed to the defeat of the party in the july 16 governorship election in the state.
