APC Presidential Rally:Tinubu pledges economic transform of Cross River; Tinubu has renewed our hope in development – Cross River APC
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, has promised to transform the economy of Cross River State by creating jobs in the maritime and tourism sectors.
He made the pledge at a mega campaign rally held at the U. J. Esuene Stadium Calabar, where the party’s flag was given to the various candidates ahead of the February 25 and March 11, 2023 general election.
The presidential candidate, who was in the company of his running mate Kashim Shettima, stated that the APC was committed to building a prosperous Nigeria, urged the people to vote only for the party.
He said, “we will create jobs here. We will turn our water surrounding to be greater than Miami and Florida. This state will become a wonder of tourism.”
Attributing the rising inflation and general economic downward trend as well as the fall of the naira against the US Dollars to the 16 years of rule of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Tinubu stated, “the PDP lack of understanding of inflation, keeping our currency low against the Dollar. If the PDP had arrested the economy, Nigeria would have been better. We would not be experiencing what we are passing through today”.
He urged the people of Cross River to vote for him as the only transformational leader with the capacity to revamp Nigeria’s economy.
The APC national Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu urged Cross River women and youths to vote for Bola Tinubu as the only president Nigeria needs and whom Cross River would benefit from.
Similarly, the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and governor of Plateau State, Simon Along commended the people for waiting patiently to receive the candidate and supporting the state government.
He assured of a better and prosperous Cross River State once the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu becomes Nigeria’s national leader.
The rally, which featured musical presentations of Nigerian national artiste as well as remarks from Nigerian film maestro, Zach Orji, climaxed with the presentation of flags to APC Cross River State candidate including Governor Ben Ayade as the northern senatorial district candidate and Senator Bassey Otu for governor.
The Cross River chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended the party’s Presidential Campaign Council for listening to the voices of Cross Riverians to move the party’s Presidential Campaign rally in Calabar to Tuesday.
The State party Chairman, Mr Alphonsus Eba, disclosed this while speaking on the Cross River’s leg of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Rally held in Calabar.
Mr Eba saluted the Council for moving the campaign from a Sunday to a midweek which he said was a major boost for the party’s chances of winning the Presidential Seat again.
He promised that the party will provide what the Presidential candidate has made as a policy statement the 3 times he has come for a consultation, townhall meeting and campaign rally on Tuesday of a Super Highway through Cross River State to link Cameroon that will also link Other parts of Nigeria and the South-South and also a Deep Seaport for the State that will turn around its fortunes and restore it among the comity of States.
He added that the Rally was turned into a carnival by the acceptance of the party’s Presidential Candidate by the People of Cross River State.
He disclosed that he strongly believes that the party’s Presidential Candidate will be Sworn in as the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He lamented the ceding of the Bakassi Peninsular to Cameroon without a referendum which has impoverished the people of the peninsular including the loss of 76 Oil wells in the decision.
He described the then-ruling party as the Papa Disappoint Pikin party which also collected over 18 Billion Naira for the people of the territory without anything to show for it.
He commended Professor Ben Ayade’s administration for being a change-maker in his eight years as governor of Cross River State.
He also described the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress as the man who has renewed the hope of the People of Cross River with the Super Highway and a Deep Seaport now on the table under a prospective APC administration
