Ayade imposes 6pm to 6am warning curfew in waring Obubra communities

Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade has imposed a 6pm-6am curfew on Ovonum and Ofatura communities in Obubra Local Government Area following the communal clashes between them to douse the tension.

News about the curfew was communicated through a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita in Calabar on Friday May 5th and is to take immediate effect.

The release read in part:- “His Excellency, the Governor hereby directs security agencies in the state to ensure the strict enforcement of the curfew.

“The Governor decries the destruction of lives and property in the renewed clashes and vows that the government will bring to book all those behind the clashes”.
