Ayade pays gratuities of retirees in Cross River State
Relief has eventually come to retired civil servants in Cross River State as the Ayade administration has made available the sum of two hundred million nairas for payment of gratuities’.
The gesture is in fulfillment of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) entered into with organized labour that 50 million nairas will be provided between January to April 2022 to settle outstanding arrears of gratuities owed to the retirees by the government.
The Head of Service (HOS) Mr. Timothy Ogbang Akwaji disclosed this to LENS Reporter in a chat on Monday, April 11 in Calabar.
He reiterated that the state does not owe salaries and pensions and hence advised against wrong reportage of government activities by some section of the media which fails to verify information from the office of the Head of the service.
