Bayelsa Assembly Cleared 24 Commissioner Nominees.
The lawmakers in the state today screened 24 nominees for the position of commissioner in Bayelsa state in a four-hour plenary session, charging the cleared commissioners to see their appointments as a call to improve the lives of the people, and not as an avenue for self-enrichment.
The speaker, Abraham Ingobere, three former state lawmakers who were also nominated and a returning commissioner, Maxwell Ebibai were asked to take a bow in line with rules of the Assembly.
Some commissioner designates, who spoke to journalists after their screening and confirmation, expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri for the trust reposed in them by nominating them for the positions and promised to add value to the ministries where they will be deployed to serve.
