Bayelsa Flood: Jonathan Optimistic of FG’s intervention
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said despite the delay by the relevant federal government agencies, he is optimistic that the Federal Government will intervene in mitigating the suffering being experienced by Bayelsans due to the ravaging flood.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan made the assertion on Wednesday at the 11th State Thanksgiving Service held at the Ecumenical Center Igbogene, Yenagoa, during his goodwill message.
Jonathan while empathizing with Bayelsans, said during 2012 when he was in office, he visited a couple of states in the country and was saddened by the devastation, adding that the 2022 flood is more devastating.
The Former President commended Former Governor Henry Seriake Dickson for initiating the state Thanksgiving, as he also applauded Governor Douye Diri for sustaining it, maintaining that despite challenges it is important to praise God.
