C’ River 2023 Elections: Former Deputy Governor joins governorship race

The former Deputy Governor of Cross River State during the tenure of Senator Liyel Imoke, Barrister Efiok Cobham has formally declared intention to contest the 2023 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), even as his campaign office at Eta Agbor round-about is draped complemented by posters.

Barrister Cobham who was the Director-General of Governor Ben Ayade re-election team in 2019 and thereafter the caretaker PDP Committee Chairman before the emergence of Venetius Ikem has vowed to return Cross River State to her lost glory if elected governor in 2023.

He is the fourth individual who has formally indicated interest to govern Cross River state. Others are Senator Sandy Onor, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo (DANSUKI) and Sir Arthur Jarvis, Chancellor of the Arthur Jarvis University and son of the former military governor of the State, late Brigadier General Dan Archibong.
