C’ River 2023 Governorship Race: Toyo joins male aspirants in PDP

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the African Union (AU) and a former member of the lower house of the National Assembly Hon. Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo has declared her intention to contest the 2023 governorship election in Cross River State under the People’s Democratic Party platform.

Ambassador Toyo made the declaration at her ward in Calabar with a promise to change the narrative in governance and restore the state to her past glory.

The former NASS member is the wife of a former Akwa Ibom State PDP Chapter Chairman, Arc. Ita Toyo said at a press conference in Calabar on February 12th, 2022 that she has the requisite political qualification and experience to deliver the state from the present clueless administration which has impacted negatively on infrastructural development in Cross River State.

In their responses to the declaration the state PDP women leader Hon. Florence Inyang and Chairman of PDP in Calabar Municipal council area, Dr. Otop Oqua Otop promised to mobilize the members of the party to see to her emergence as the candidate for the 2023 elections and encourage electorates to vote for her as the best candidate to emerge from the Southern Senatorial District of the state to fill the Calabar-Ogoja zoning slot.
