C’ River/A’ Ibom oil wells court judgement: Senator Akpabio says he paid CRS N185.5b for settlement
An All Progressive Congress presidential aspirant and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has claimed that he paid Cross River State N185.5 billion to settle the ceded oil wells court case.
The Ex-Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Ministry and governor of Akwa Ibom state between 2007 to 2015 has revealed that the then Cross River State governor, Senator Liyel Imoke approached the law court on the matter insinuating that Akwa Ibom State took them to court which warranted him to pay the money in a bid to forge a political solution to resolve the feud.
Senator Akpabio on Wednesday night in Calabar made the revelation while consulting with APC national delegates stating that Cross River State and Akwa Ibom State are like siamese twins which can not be separated from birth assuring that if given the ticket to be the presidential flagbearer, more indigenes of the state would benefit from his administration.
He promised to provide security, revamp the ailing economy and make Nigeria become a peaceful nation.
Hon. Orok Duke, the director of Senator Akpabio Campaign Organization in Cross River State with the slogan “ LET GOD’S WILL BE DONE IN NIGERIA” assured him of support during the APC presidential primaries by having a bloc votes from the State national delegates at the convention in Abuja.
