C’ River District, The Salvation Army Elevates two Faithfulls, Calls for Dedication to God

Majors Ime and Mary Akpan have vowed that they would continue to serve God faithfully as well as encourage people to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth in their daily living.

Cross River State leaders of The Salvation Army spoke with Lens reporter shortly after their installation as the District Officer and District Director for Women’s Ministries (Do/DDWM). Lt. Cols. Isaac and Eva Danso, Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary respectively, did the conferment.

Both inductees commended the Salvation Army for finding them worthy to be consecrated and elevation to the position of DO and DDWM of the Cross River District of the ministry saying the bestowal is a call to higher service in the Vineyard of God.

They said “We sincerely thank The Salvation Army for the honour done us today. The import to this development in our lives is a call to higher service in the Vineyard of God. We pray that God Almighty will give us the enablement to do those additional responsibilities effectively and efficiently. Above all, we will encourage people to worship God in truth”.

Lt. Cols. Isaac and Eva Dans who conducted the ceremony charged the new inductees to be faithful, work diligently, be courageous, looking unto God and that the good Lord will make them instruments of every good work.

The Special Guest of Honour was His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, high profile officials of the state government and the Obong of Calabar among others who graced the event.
