Celebrity Boxing: Burna Boy dashes Portable N20m leaving Speed Darlington whining over defeat
Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy has gifted Portable N20 million to celebrate his victory over Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing match.
The Controversial singer, Badmus Okikiola, popularly known as Portable won the match, dubbed “Chaos in the Rings,” after Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington reportedly broke his arm in the first round and failed to show up for the second round.
Burna Boy, who has had a history of conflict with Speed Darlington, shared his support for Portable through a generous cash gift.
The fight organised by Game Rush in collaboration with Balmoral Promotions was held in the morning of Saturday, 19 at the Balmoral Events Centre in Lagos as the zazoo-zeh crooner displayed incredible boxing skills and defeated his opponent by technical knockout in the first round.
The event follows previous showcases by the organisers, including a December 2024 bout and the launch of ‘Friday Fight Night’ in February 2025.
Portable expressed his gratitude on his Instagram story, revealing the gift and writing, “20 million from @burnaboygram. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family.”
However, Speed Darlington, has claimed fellow artist Badmus Okikiola, aka Portable, used traditional charms, commonly referred to as juju during their Saturday boxing showdown.
In a video posted on social media platform X, Speed Darlington alleged that his shoulder became dislocated during the fight, even though he felt no signs of exhaustion.
