Clergy advocates paradigm shift as panacea to nations problem
The President of Sanctified Mount Zion Church of Nigeria Inc., Pastor Bassey Evans Etukidem has proposed a paradigm shift in leadership as solution to the multiple problems bedeviling Nigeria.
Etukidem who is a scion of late Bishop Evans Etukidem, a popular AKBC radio presenter in Ibibio ‘ Ikot Abasi Esik Ekpere’, opined that if leaders in the three tiers and arms of government imbibe the Biblical instruction of doing unto others what you want others to do unto us, justice, equity and fairness in governance will manifest thus niping in the bud ethnic tension and aggression by tribal nationalities.
He used the forum of talking with a Lens reporter at the headquarters of the church at Ikot Eka Edem in Calabar, Cross River State capital to demand restraint from agitating individuals and groups which has led to loss of valuable properties and shedding of innocent blood which are inimical to meaningful growth and development.
In addition, he called for prayers to end acts of hooliganism and criminality in the country while praising the vision of our founding fathers for sustaining unity in diversity among the ethnic nationalities spotted in Northern and Southern regions.
