Clergy cautions over calls for Buhari to resign

The presiding Pastor of WORD DIET International Gospel Church, Apostle Omotosho Tope Joseph has urged ministers of God to have a rethink over the call by some aggrieved men of God for the President to resign or be impeached by the National Assembly due to insecurity and economic challenges in the country.

He suggested instead that Christians should engage in intensive prayers across the nation to salvage Nigeria from her present predicament which he attributes to the long years of wrong doings by past administrations in the country.

Joseph appealed for unity of purpose and synergy among all ethnic nationalities asking Nigerians to drop the request for restructioning which in his view would heighten the urge for division. He said they should unite to achieve the vision of our founding fathers who struggled to keep the egalitarian structure of the Nigerian society.

The clergy who bore his thought while engaging with a Lens reporter in his office referenced the Biblical instruction that we should pray for those in authority, emphasizing that in times like this which is not peculiar to Nigeria alone, corporate prayer is needed by all Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion to scale through.

Meanwhile, WDIGC shall be celebrating her 2nd anniversary from 17th to 23rd May 2021 with the theme ‘touch of God 2021’ to seek the face of God to intervene and actualize His divine plan for Nigeria.
