Cleric condemns killing of Kaduna LP women leader
The General Overseer of The Apostolic Free Gift of Heaven Ministries, Apostle Bassey E. Okon has described the killing of a Local Government Area Labour Party women leader in Kaduna State as the highest level of man’s inhumanity to the women folk.
He made the disclosure on Thursday while fielding questions from a LENS Reporter at No 8 Ewa Ekeng Street, Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The women leader of the Labour Party in Kaura LGA of Kaduna State, Victoria Chintex was reportedly killed on Monday after gunmen invaded her residence in Kaura and shot her dead.
Also, Apostle Bassey Okon has advised leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students – NANS to explore dialogue instead of violence to resolve the alleged detention of Aminu Mohammed, the student who was arrested for allegedly insulting the wife of Nigeria’s president, Aisha Buhari.
He pleaded with the first lady to see the affront as coming from a child she could bear as a mother as Aminu is due to write his final year exams on December 5, 2022.
He cautioned that since the country is seemingly sitting on a keg of gun-powder because of the political transition in 2023, care should be taken not to overheat the polity to avoid a repeat of the |ENDSARS protest and prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the slain Labour Party woman leader warning against any reprisal attack as people may want to attach religious colouration thereby escalating it.
