Cleric counsels Christians to live responsibly as they would account for their works on earth
Pastor Nwa Chukwu of The Redeemed Christian Church of God,(RCCG) Etono Central Congregation has admonished Christians to be ready to render accounts of their stewardship to God on the judgment day after life on earth.
Chukwu gave the charge at the funeral service in honour of late matriarch Mrs. Comfort Aya Ewa (aka: Ake Eunice) on Friday November 29th 2024 in Etono Central, Biase Local Government Area, Cross River State.
In his sermon title “I KNOW YOUR WORKS” referencing Revelation 2:2, “I know your works and your labour and your patience and how you cannot bear with those who are evil: But have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false”, he said most Christians live a double life pretending to be righteous in the church but are devil incarnate outside the church indulging in vices inimical to making heaven which should be the goal of every believer after their sojourn on earth. He thanked God for the exemplary life of late Mrs. Comfort Aya Ewa as reflected in the multiple tributes from family members and friends. He advised the living to amend their ways to have such good commendation when they pass.
In his tribute to his departed Mother-in-law, Hon. Justice Ukpai Ibitham, of High Court No. 6, Cross River State Judiciary who doubles as pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Maranatha Cathedral, Calabar described late Mrs. Comfort Aya Ewa (aka: Ake Eunice) as “a bridge builder, peace loving person who died a fulfilled woman full of virtue who may not have been rich in mammon and other material things of measuring wealth today, but was certainly wealthy in her service to the Lord and rich in kindness, rich in humility and in all godly virtues as a simple unassuming women and loved by everyone who came in contact with her while alive.” He wished her soul a peaceful repose in the bosom of her maker.
Condolence messages were received from Hon. Justice Akon B. Ikpeme, Chief Judge of Cross River State, Nsikak Ikpeme Esq, Chairman Nigerian Barr. Association (NBA) Calabar Branch and Judges Wives Association, Calabar where his wife and daughter of the deceased, Pastor (Mrs.) Eunice Ibitham as well as from RCCG, Maranatha Cathedral, Calabar who described the deceased as a role model and epitome of womanhood.
Remains of Late (Mrs.) Comfort Aya Ewa (aka: Ake Eunice) aged 78 years was committed to the grave in her ancestral home at Etono, Central in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State.
