Cleric harps on benefits of celebrating harvest

As 2022 winds down a number of Christian denominations are performing their end-of-year harvest celebration. The Provost of The African Church Cathedral of Christ, 36 MacDonald Street, Calabar South Local Government Area in Cross River State, Venerable Daniel Bassey Ekpenyong has stressed the need for Christians to give bountifully to reap in abundance during the harvest anniversary of the church-themed: “Harvest of Multiplying Effect” Genesis 22:17.

Venerable Ekpenyong gave the admonition in a conversation with LENS Reporter at the 2022 Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service in the Church Auditorium on Sunday 30th October 2022.

He referenced Genesis 22:17 “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the Stars of the Heaven and as the sand which is upon the Seashore: and my seed shall possess the gate of his enemies”

Corroborating his views, an official of the church and former Manager with Pamol Nigeria LTD in Sapele Rubber Estate, (SRE) Oghara, Delta State, Sir Lawrence Mandah attributed seasons of lack experienced by Christians to their failure to appreciate the awesome mercies of God by rendering worthy harvest to him in return for his faithfulness who multiplies little into much in due season.

The occasion featured songs ministration, a Parade by the Boys Brigade, a presentation of harvest items, fruits, and word manifestation.
