Coalition of All Political Parties condemn politically induced violence in Cross River State
The State Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) and co-coordinator of Coalition of All Political Parties in Cross River State Dr. Innocent Ekwok has described the attack on a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Francis Ekeng is an unfortunate development capable of truncating the 2023 general elections.
Ekeng who is the state organizing secretary of the PDP was reported on Monday, February 6, 2023, to have narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by unknown gunmen alleged to be agents of the opposition party. His apartment in Akpabuyo Local Government Area was vandalized and the security man sustained injuries from the attack.
Dr. Ekwok who spoke through Hon. Mathias Akpelishi Amgbah, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party said the coalition has decided to hold a meeting on Saturday, February 11, 2023, to sensitize all members of the coalition from the 18 council areas on the appropriate methods to conduct campaigns in line with international best practices.
The National Youth Leader, National Women Leader, and members of PATSOL Campaign Organization along with the Cross River State Party EXCO will grace the occasion aimed at hoisting the red flag where some party governorship candidates including Mr. Patrick Solomon “PATSOL” and members of “2FACE BABA ELECTION NO BE WAR THING” will address the electorates on peaceful electioneering before, during and after the general elections.
