Commodore Kunle Olawumni Rtd has appeared before the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, Olawummi who was in the office of the DIA on Tuesday was accompanied by his lawyer Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria.
His appearance is sequel to an interview he granted wherein he accused the Buhari government of shielding sponsors of the Boko Haram terrorists
Though he failed to mention names, he also stated that some Governors, ministers, and senators are sponsors of Boko Haram and that the Government knows them.
The meeting was said to be a “friendly chat” between Commodore Kunle Olawunmi and “his colleagues”.
Recall that the Defence Headquarters had earlier in a statement said that the retired military officer who is on the military reserve list was only invited via SMS and voice by DIA to further furnish the Armed Forces of Nigeria with relevant and pressing security information which he may be opportuned to have knowledge of as a Professor of Global Security Studies and not arrested as speculated in some quotas.
Reminiscing the development, the National Broadcasting Commission NBC had earlier invited the anchors of Channels Television breakfast programme in connection with an interview conducted on the programme Wednesday.
The station had reportedly broadcast a live interview with retired naval commodore Kunle Olawunmi who accused the Buhari government of shielding sponsors of the Boko Haram terrorists. According to the NBC, the interview was “inciting and divisive”.
Similarly, the National Broadcasting Commission NBC has issued a query to the broadcaster. The broadcast regulator is accusing Channels Television of airing an inciting interview and had asked it to respond within 24-hours
