COMMUNITY LEADER DECRIES NEGLECT OF IKPE IKOT NKON HOSPITAL
The current president of Ibibio community in Cross River State, Obong (Engr.) Solomon Sunday Jesse has condemned the continues neglect by successive governments of general hospital, Ikpe Ikot Nkon in Ini local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
Obong Jesse bared his mind to newsmen during the courtesy call to his workshop in Calabar by Ibibio students Union from the University of Calabar led by HRH Nsobom Anietie Edet (Nsobom in council), Chief Eyo Utuia Emmanuel Donald Ime and woman leader Abigail Solomon who were there to solicit support for their exercise book project to less privilege students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Akwa Ibom State in order to compliment government free and compulsory education policy.
Engineer Jesse who is the Chief executive officer of system engineering services ltd, contractors to NNPC, Unicem and trainers to ITF (Industrial Training Fund) as well as an aspirant for the Ini State constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly under the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform, would want to partner National Directorate of employment NDE and Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC) to prepare youths with necessary skills for the oil and gas industry in the Niger Delta Region. The effort according to him, is to stem youth restiveness
He however called on Akwa Ibom indigenes to allow Eket Senatorial District their second term slot in governorship of the state as was granted Uyo Senatorial District with Obong Arch Victor Attah and Senator Godswill Akpabio from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in the spirit of equity and fair play.
