COVID 19: Cross River begins fumigation of Schools for Resumption

Ahead of schools resumption in Cross River State, the government has begun the fumigation of some public schools across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
The Chairman of COVID-19 response Team in Cross River, Dr Betta Edu has disclosed that the government has begun the fumigation of some public schools ahead of resumption in the three Senatorial Districts of the state. The exercise she said is aimed at protecting and safeguarding pupils, students, management and staff of public schools against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Edu who was on an inspection visit in the company of the secretary of the Response Team, Asuquo Ekpeyong said a directive has been handed down to operators of private schools in the state to replicate the exercise before schools resumes in earnest.
And in preparation, the covid-19 Team had already trained healthcare workers who have been posted to schools across the state.
The government called on parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards are properly kitted with face masks and sanitisers assuring that government will also make provisions at school premises to further support meeting Covid 19 regulation.
