Cross River Basin Development Authority gives marching order to vendors to vacate gate
The Cross River Basin Development Authority, CRBDA, has warned traders occupying its gate to relocate or face the wrath of the law.
In a statement issued on Monday, it gave them a five-day ultimatum to vacate the premises.
The activities of the vendors have turned the entrance into a mini market, in recent years.
The deadline for the “stoppage of any form of trading/business at the restricted area is Friday, August 26, 2023,” the Authority warned.
Again, the Authority warned that those who do not comply will be “arrested and handed over to law enforcement agency.”
In line with it’s vision, mission and mandate, the Cross River Basin Development Authority has over the years executed various projects which has impacted the management of water resources for agriculture and other uses since it’s establishment in 1976 with the mandate to use the abundant water resources in Akwa Ibom and Cross River for integrated development of the area.
