Cross River commissioner appreciate God in thanks giving service

A member of the Cross River State Executive Council, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Francis E. Ekpenyong has appreciated God in a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at Green Pastures Christian Centre (GPCC) along Nsemo Street, Calabar Cross River State.

The Hon. Commissioner for lands recalled that he took ill five months after his appointment but God rescued him from the dark tunnel of life with his mighty hand which is his reason for the celebration.

In her sermon, captioned “The Different Kind of Hearts that Exist” the Senior Pastor Grace Emerald Udokang referencing Jeremiah 17: 9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to the fruit of his doings,” explained that according to Matthew 13: 15 “Some People’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them”, Chief Ekpenyong in her naration is a man with a compassionate heart.

Dignitaries at the service include Dame (Senator) Princess Florence Ita-Giwa, Sir, William Archibong, Hon. Eric Anderson, former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, HRH Etinyin Koko Bassey and members of the Cross River State Executive Council among others.

Reception was held at the Management Development Centre (MDI) Mary Slessor, Calabar attended by the host’s political class and well wishers.
