CROSS RIVER DECIDES 2023: APC guber candidate Otu leads in 11 out of 14 councils declared

As Cross Riverians await the final result in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections held on Saturday March 18, 2023, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Prince Bassey Otu is leading in eleven out of the fourteen Local Government Areas that results have so far been declared by INEC Returning Officer Prof Teddy of the Federal University, Ofueke in Bayelsa State.

Prince Otu is leading in Biase, Obubra, Abi, Bakassi, Yala, Calabar South, Akpabuyo, Etung, Yakurr, Calabar municipality, and Odukpani Local Government Areas while Senator Sandy Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won in Ikom, Bekwara and Ogoja Local Government Areas.

Meanwhile, in the State House of Assembly elections, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Calabar Municipal state constituency, Mr. Francis Effanga won in his polling Unit (PU) at Obori Drive Zion Rock Church but Mr. Stanley Boyce Nsemo of APC was declared winner in the keenly contested election to represent the Calabar Municipal State Constituency by defeating Rt. Hon. Efa Esua of the PDP.

The election for Obanliku, Boki and Akamkpa has been adjourned to the next day.
