Cross River government distributes 9,300 chairs, tables to primary, junior secondary schools

The Cross River State Government, through the State Universal Basic Education Commission Board (CR-SUBEB) says it has procured 9,300 Chairs and Tables for distribution to Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the State.

Dr Stephen Odey, Executive Chairman SUBEB disclosed this on Saturday in Calabar in a statement made available to newsmen.

According to him, this was part of the State Government’s effort to improve the learning condition of pupils.

“The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board is set to distribute 4,650 plastic tables and 4,650 chairs to public Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the State.

“These tables and chairs were procured through the UBE/Cross River SUBEB 2020 intervention fund and are set to be distributed to schools across the three senatorial zones in the State, ” he said.

Odey said the distribution of classroom furniture to schools was to create a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

He maintained that the present administration in the State would continue to accord top priority to conducive teaching and learning in schools.

The chairman appealed to teachers to complement State Government’s efforts by protecting classroom facilities against theft and vandalism in the interest of the pupils.
