Cross River Governorship Election: Aspirant promises to bring business ethics into governance
A gubernatorial aspirant for 2023 General Elections in Cross River State Pastor Eyo Okpo Ene has posited that he will bring his over 35 years wealth of experience to impact governance if elected governor of the state in 2023.
Pastor Okpo Ene who is the former Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Council and a product of Lagos Business School (LBS) barred his mind in a chat with LENS Reporter in his campaign office Wednesday in calabar where he said the government in the State will no longer be business as usual under his watch.
The entrepreneur from Creek town with over 250 persons in his employ lamented the vogue of seeing government as father Christmas by the people because of stipends from government rather than investment in human capital and infrastructure which are keys that drives the economy of every nation.
He called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under which platform he is running to focus less on zoning and instead nominate persons with proven credentials to fly its flag in the polls in 2023 in order to win and reclaim the lost glory of the nations tourism destination.
He promised if elected to revamp the state ailing industries to return them to the path of profitability thereby impacting the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to augment the lean fund from the federal allocation. He promised in addition prudent management of the State resources.
