Cross River ministry alerts public against fraudulent online loans

The Cross River State Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Development says its attention has been drawn to a fraudulent site circulating messages to supposed beneficiaries of a purported Agricultural loan under the guise of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).

A press release signed by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Irrigation Development, Hon. Johnson Andiambay said the messages streamed via a link to a website demand disbursement and clearance fee of two thousand naira from unsuspecting members of the public intended to scam them of their hard earned money.

The ministry noted that after its investigation, no such loan scheme exist at the moment.

The statement advised the public to take heed as anyone who falls victim to such fraudulent schemes as the agricultural loan website in question, or any other opaque platforms, would be doing so at their perils.
