The 2021/2022 legal year of the Cross River State Judiciary will open on Monday, 20th Septenber 2021.
A statement-signed and issued by the Chief Registrar of the State Judiciary Edem Okokon made available to newsmen in Calabar said that the new legal year shall begin with a Church Service at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Hope Waddle Parish Calabar on Monday 20th September 2021 by 11am.
According to the release, the Church Service shall immediately be followed with inspection of a guard of honour mounted by the Nigeria Police by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Akon B. Ikpeme at the premises of the High Court complex, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar.
The statement further advised all Judges, Magistrates, Staff, Law officers and legal practitioners to attend with their full robes.
The registrar added that Hon. Justice Edem Ita Kooffreh is the vacation Judge for Calabar and is taking care of urgent matters arising from Calabar, Akamkpa, Akpabuyo and Ugep Judicial Division.
The statement further added that the Ugep Judicial Division is sitting at the High Court No 1 Calabar.
Chief Registrar Edem Okokon further said the vacation Judges shall proceed on their own vacation there off accordingly.
