Damaged vehicle owner calls out MTN diesel truck; wants vehicle fixed

MTN Mecedes Benz truck with number APP 77XB has damaged a Toyota Hilux with Number IND 717XC carrying pure water along Assemblies of God Road, off MCC Road, Ikot Uduak after Timber market in Calabar.

Engr. Edet Udoh the owner of the damaged vehicle who is a resident in the area said MTN Diesel truck is fond of blocking the road each time they come to refuel generator powering the mast due to bad road and appeal for compensation to repair his damaged vehicle which has already been taken to mechanic workshop.

Efforts to get MTN Calabar office for comments on the matter proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

It would be recalled that despite several SOS messages to government, the bad condition of Assemblies of God Road off MCC Road, Ikot Uduak is due to its abandonment by the contractor NEWMAP awarded the job during Governor Ben Ayade administration. Another reason is the failure of the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure who had earlier sent engineers to measure the road and officials of the NDDC who also measured the road for construction but abandoning it as nothing has been done to mitigate the suffering of the residents of this area which is in the heart of Calabar Municipal Council.
