Edo Election: Obaseki Blazing the Trail in Governorship Race

Godwin Obaseki the sitting governor of Edo state leaped into  unassailable lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission in Edo on Sunday commence announcement of results of polls conducted across the state on Saturday.

Already, results of 13 local governments out of 18 have been announced by the electoral umpire with Obaseki, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), clinching 11 and Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu, flagbearer of APC cornering 2.

Meanwhile the results for the remaining five local councils are still being awaited.

An overview of the votes awarded to Obaseki in 13 local governments stood at 243,604, while Ize-Iyamu’s was 154,192.
