Governor Godwin Obaseki Still basking in the euphoria of his electoral victory in the just concluded Edo State governorship electon has asked his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Udom Emmanuel to help resuscitate and reposition the South-South regional development bloc, the BRACED Commission.
Governor Obaseki who said this in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state while on a thank you visit to Governor Emmanuel pointed out that the new world order require more regional integration and cooperation and as such the region should not be left behind.
The governor who was accompanied by his wife,Betsy and entourage were accorded a rousing reception on arrivng Government House, Uyo to a warm welcome from his host Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Obaseki says he visited to say a big thank you to Udom Emmanuel for his support during the election which helped him to secure victory and used the occasion to plead with him to allow himself to be an ambassador for unity and cooperation in the South South region.
And responding, Udom Emmanuel who likened the travails of Governor Obaseki to his last years election stated that the victory should not be attributed to anybody but God and thanked the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, structure in Edo state for rallying behind him to success.
